I was thrilled to receive an advanced listening copy of Resting Bitch Gace: Poems by Taylor Byas.

This collection of poems is atmospheric and filled with understated strength.

Dr. Taylor Byas has a voice that is powerful, yet understated, and full of tension that suits her poetry. Her poems emote similar reactions with commentary on social justice, equality, and being a Black woman in the USA. I felt like I was along for the journey as I listened to her poetry with each poem building on the former in voice and content.
