A big birthday is looming, and I’m ready to become a better version of myself. So, Summer 2025 is my opportunity to get healthy. I want to have more energy, less stress, and confidence in my body. My plan will help me to be stronger, healthier, and more in control of my emotions. By accomplishing my goals, I will be an improved version of myself, someone who thinks with clarity, manages emotions, and turns to healthy habits instead of my current fallbacks of binging, regulating my emotions with food, and hiding from life.
I’m doing this to feel stronger, healthier, and more in control—physically and mentally. I want more energy, less stress, and a body I feel confident in. Every step I take brings me closer to the version of myself who moves with purpose, thinks clearly, and lives a more fulfilling life.
My goals for Summer 2025
Between June 22 and August 22, I will
- Log at least 7,000 steps per day on most days of the week
- Move for 30+ minutes at least 5 days per week
- Improve my 1-mile walking pace to < 17:00
- Jog a 5K without stopping
- Cut out excess sugars (no sugary snacks)
- Increase my protein intake: 100 grams per day
- Lose 15 pounds
- Journal for 15 minutes every day
To measure my progress, I will document my daily and weekly achievements.
What will happen along the way?
By accomplishing these goals, I will lose weight and improve my cardiovascular health. I will have more stamina, and I will be more confident in my body. Also, I will lower inflammation in my body by cutting out sugar and eating a protein-based diet. Finally, I will lower my stress level and improve my mental health by being more active, spending more time outside, and keeping a daily journal.
Who will future Jessica be?
When I envision what August 22 looks like, I see better Jessica, a confident woman who
- Has more energy to devote to what matters most: faith, family, pets, and introspection
- Spends more time moving and less time sleeping (during the day)
- Manages daily stressors in a healthier way: sunshine, exercise and reflection
- Is stronger in her body with progressive results in stamina, activity levels, and better performance
- Sees noticeable changes in her body with less inflammation
- Feels more confident with weight loss and managed mental health challenges
How do you reach your goals? Who do you envision your future self to be?
